Beer-Battered Catfish Tacos

Richardson Sex Club

These Beer-Battered Catfish Tacos are a tasty and crispy take on regular tacos. The beer batter on the catfish is light and airy, and it gives the fish a great crunch. These tacos are a tasty treat because they are topped with fresh cabbage, tomatoes, and cilantro.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb catfish fillets, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beer light lager works well
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving
  • Sour cream or crema for garnish
  • Hot sauce optional

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Slowly whisk in the beer until you have a smooth batter

Let it rest for 10 minutes

Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350F 175C

Dip each catfish strip into the beer batter, allowing any excess to drip off, and carefully place it into the hot oil

Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side

Remove and drain on paper towels

Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or oven until pliable

To assemble tacos, place a few catfish strips on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, red onion, and fresh cilantro

Serve with lime wedges and a dollop of sour cream or crema

Add hot sauce if desired

Enjoy your delicious Beer-Battered Catfish Tacos
